As a team we have decided that cost should not be a barrier to participation in an activity that a student is passionate about. Miami Beach Senior High is an economically diverse school and Miami Beach Bots is composed of many students from low economic minority families. It is an important team value that all students have equal access to explore their interest in engineering. No student is asked to contribute more than $25 per school year.
Unfortunately, the FIRST competition is expensive. We need to raise $10,000-15,000 each year to be able to afford materials, tools, transportation, registration fees, and other costs. We make up the difference through generous grants like yours.
What the donation funds
100% of grants will be used to fund parts, tools, transportation, and food during the spring build season, and supplies to teach other students about STEAM in the pre- and post-season. Some of our costs include:
-FIRST competition registration: $6000.00
-Robot parts
-Raw materials
-Tools
-Outreach marketing
-Outreach projects
-Transportation to/from competition
-Off season training projects
-Pre-season event registration"
