We welcome people of all demographics!
Our team is made up of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who attend Miami Beach Senior High, a public school. We come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. The team demographics include first and second generation students as well as students who immigrated to the United States as teens. Some of our families originally came from Cuba, Vietnam, Spain, Bolivia, Japan, Argentina, Columbia, and Venezuela. Many of us are in Honors or AP classes, but that is not a requirement to join. We currently have 25 students including 10 girls and 15 boys, and three mentors with almost half of our leadership being girls.
Not only are we actively recruiting female students, but we also have procedures in place to ensure that all students are given opportunities to participate wherever their interests lie. Due to our small team size, every contribution matters and this collaboration has been essential to accomplishing our goals.
Location and Meeting Frequency
For the 2025-2026 school year we will be meeting in Room 504 on Monday and Friday from 2:30 to 3:30. The first meeting was held on September 8th and regular meetings will occur throughout the duration of the year unless stated otherwise. Meetings are typically an hour long, although length and frequency will vary during the build season.
Membership Requirements
Prospective members are welcome to attend any meeting throughout the school year in order to inquire about membership, and receive a membership packet containing the necessary information to join. No prior skills or technical ability are required to join, and students of all levels are welcome. In addition to technical skills such as programming and manufacturing, our team relies on students that have experience in business/marketing, social media, video production, and digital art creation.
Meeting every Monday and Friday at 2:30, room 504.
